NATO Cooperation with Israel:
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has stated that they will not accept NATO cooperation with Israel until there is comprehensive and sustainable peace in Palestine.
NATO cannot continue to cooperate with the Israeli government, the Turkish president stated at a press conference held in Washington during the summit.
The president of Turkey made it clear that unless there is a comprehensive and long-lasting peace in Palestine, Turkey will not accept collaboration with Israel within NATO.
In addition, he said that continued diplomatic efforts are being made to put an end to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine and that collaboration among NATO countries is crucial in the battle against terrorism.
Israel is about to receive a consignment of 500-pound bombs from the United States.
The president of Turkey responded to a query by saying that the president of the United States had promised that the problem with the F-16 aircraft would be fixed in three to four weeks.
In an effort to mend fences with Syria, President Erdoğan also stated that he has given the Turkish Foreign Minister instructions to meet with the Syrian President.
According to him, Turkey wants to join the Shanghai Cooperation Organization permanently.
