The spokesperson emphasized that the government does not want to burden the public and that measures are being taken to reduce inflation. They also warned the public not to believe rumors and assured that amendments regarding the petroleum price had been approved with a majority in the National Assembly session on Thursday.
It should be noted that the federal government has announced in the federal budget for the fiscal year 2025 to increase the petroleum levy from the current 60 rupees per liter to 80 rupees per liter. However, the government will implement the petroleum price gradually, starting at 20 rupees per liter.
