“WhatsApp’s latest feature: 3 Major Drawbacks to Sharing Files Without Internet”
WhatsApp’s latest feature now allows users to share files without the internet, enhancing connectivity and convenience for millions worldwide.
“WhatsApp’s Latest Feature: iPhone Air Drop-like Function for Seamless Nearby File Sharing“
This feature was first seen in the WhatsApp Android beta version in April 2024.
Now, it is being tested in the iOS beta version and is named Nearby Share.
According to a report by WA BetaInfo, this feature allows users to share various files, such as photos, videos, and text documents, with nearby smartphones without the need for an internet connection.
It is true that using WhatsApp to share files with other devices without an internet connection is possible.
Large files can now be shared with friends and family members in places with spotty or nonexistent internet access thanks to this capability, which will come in extremely handy.
On iPhones, however, the functionality will function somewhat differently than on Android devices.
This functionality on Android will function similarly to AirDrop.
On the other hand, in order to utilize this feature on an iPhone, users must scan a QR code.

The rationale for WhatsApp’s selection of QR codes for iOS devices remains unclear.
According to the updated report, the receiver must approve the sharing request for this feature to function.
Only contacts on the user’s contact list will be able to share files thanks to this functionality.
To stop outsiders from accessing any shared data, they will all be encrypted.
Since this function is still in the beta stage of testing, it is difficult to predict when it will be made available to all users.
