Yom-e-Ashura significance:
Yom-e-Ashura, observed on the 10th day of the Islamic month of Muharram, holds significant importance in Islamic history. This day is particularly a day of mourning and remembrance for Muslims, as it marks the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions in the Battle of Karbala.

In remembrance of the great sacrifice of the Prophet’s grandson, Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), and his devoted companions, Ashura processions are being taken out across the country today.
On this day of grief, which commemorates Hazrat Imam Hussain’s (RA) martyrdom at the hands of the Yazidi army in Karbala, there are processions and gatherings of mourners in many US towns.
The main 10th Muharram parade in Karachi will begin from Nishtar Park at 9 AM, travel via M.A. Jinnah Road and the Tibet Center, and end at the Hussainian Iranian Imambargah in Kharadar.
Mobile phone coverage in some sections of Karachi is disrupted during this period, and riding motorcycles as a pillion, displaying guns, and using drones and helicams are all prohibited.
The biggest Ashura procession in Lahore began this evening at Karbala Gamay Shah and will end this evening at Nisar Haveli within Mochi Gate.
Mobile phone services will only be available in places where processions and gatherings are taking place in Punjab today.
In addition, twelve Ashura processions will leave Peshawar’s Imambargahs.
Starting at Imambargah Colonel Maqbool at 11 AM, the main Ashura procession in Islamabad will travel via specified routes before ending at Imambargah Qadeemi.
The 10th Muharram main procession will leave Quetta via Alamdar Road. On the occasion of Ashura, mobile phone services are unavailable throughout the city.
